downloading attachments

I get a lot of email with viruses attached. Is there a
setting on Outlook that prevents the downloading of the
attachments? My antivirus keeps popping up without me
even selecting the email.
I have the preview pane turned off. What else can I do?

Then you can specify just header or just header for messages that are larger
then a specific size
Tools-> Options-> tab Mail Setup-> button Send/Receive...-> button Edit...
