Draw objects print over text.

I created some simple gradient boxes, and placed them behind the text of my
document. Everything looks fine on-screen and in the print preview, but when
I go to print, the boxes print over the text. I have already tried going
into Options and messing around with the settings - nothing has worked so
far. It is currently set to allow for Drawing Objects to print, and is still
not working.

I am working in Word 2000 on an XP system.

Thanks for any help anyone can give!

Hi Laura,

I certainly remember seeing this question before, but I don't recall what the
answer was. I just checked the Knowledge Base, and I didn't turn up anything
there, either. But there are a lot of articles on problems with Word 2000, and
quite a few of them suggest turning OFF background printing. You might try that.

If it doesn't help, try asking in the word.printingfonts newsgroup. Someone
there may remember the issue and what (if anything) can be done about it.
