Drop Down Arrow and Text Filter missing

The symbols(Icons) for the Drop Down Arrow and Text Filter that normally
appears to the right of the Table Field names does not display. The option
is there to the right of the field name, and when I right or left click with
the cursor, the drop down box is displayed. I can set filters, but the Text
Filter Icon does not display.

Is there a setting that turns these symbols off/on for display?
