Duplex printer not recognised as duplex capable in Publisher 2007

I have a number of printers which Publisher does not recognise as being
capable of printing in duplex even when their properties are set to duplex.
Consequently Publisher 2007 treats them as manual printers and proceeds to
print fronts first, and backs as a second print job.

Changing the Print to Two-sided results in the duplex wizard being triggered
which again is intended for single sided printers needing to manual duplex -
fronts then backs.

Under Printer Properties, Printer details I can see that Features Duplex: No.

Q) How can I override this!

Well, I have got there by trial and error. Having queried 'duplex printing'
on this forum I can see I am not alone but most issues seem to do with HP
drivers whereas this affects several printers e..g. Adobe PDF, Xerox
DocuColor 242, Oce900.

The Solution:

Instead of having Page Range 'All Pages' selected, change the page range to
Pages: and enter the complete page range e.g. 1-16 for a 16 page booklet.

Note: if you want to strip off the cover e.g. for separate colour printing
inside & out, you used to just select pages 1-2 and Publisher 98-2003 would
know to bring in the corresponding back pages, but now in Publisher 2007 you
seem to have to specify the back pages too e.g. 1,2,15,16 for a 16 page
booklet with colour cover both sides.

I hope this workaround saves others the grief I have endured.
