Duplicate e-mails in Outlook 2003!

Rob G

I have Outlook 2003 installed (updated via Office Update), XP Home OS,
multiple Pop accounts, anyway, today we started downloading hundreds of
duplicate email addresses. Options are set to "Leave messages on server"
because we have another machine set to "delete after 3 days". I have tried to
delete and re-create all accounts, and next I'm going to try to disable virus
scanning on incoming emails.. Any ideas out there?

Thanks!

If you have requested to leave messages on the server...then what you
are downloading are the current messages...including those you've
already downloaded.

If what you mean is that you are getting duplicate emails in the SAME
download...it most likely means that your server is timing out and
restarting...thereby starting over, so you get multiple copies. Try
upping the timeout setting for your server. This option is located
right on that same advanced setting dialog box where you set the
"leave on server" setting.

Your AV email scanner can also be the cause of this. Disable email scanning
and you will still be protected with your AV's resident scanner
