Duplicate Messages in Outlook 2003

I recently installed Outlook 2003. I imported all settings from OE and
everything appeared to work OK. I set Outlook to leave messages on the
server so that I can download the messages to another mail client.

When I close Outlook and reopen it, Outlook downloads all the messages on
the server again. If Outlook is not closed, no duplicates are received when
sending and receiving. I can repeat the downloads over and over again each
time I close/open Outlook.

I have serveral accounts set up. I tried send/receiving each account
seperately, but the same thing happened.

I would appreciate any thoughts on this behavior.

Thanks.

When I used Outlook 2003 on one of my POP3 account where I selected to keep
messages on the server, Outlook 2003 kept duplicating e-mails. I could not
find a solution to this problem, which I even asked in this newsgroup. I
finally gave up on using Outlook 2003 because of this problem.
Unfortunatley in Outlook 2003 there is no way to remove duplicate e-mails
except for the tedious and cumbersome manual method.

The problem I had in Outlook 2003 does not occur in Outlook Express 6.

I think there is a bug in the way it imports accounts. Try this

Remove all the accounts that are creating duplicates
Exit and restart Outlook a few times
Recreate the accounts manually (don't import).
