Well, now I am totally befuddled. The sample data has a
different size for every record in each door#/description
group so I can't see how the report's design relates to the
data.

You said something about the description header being "like
size & price fields with the same code"?? The code we're
using for the detail can not be used in a group header
section no way, no how. So, that probably has something to
do with the confusing output you are seeing. It sure seems
to me that the description include the number of panels so
how can you group on the door# or description?

To do what you want the doors of each type(?) and size must
be grouped together, but I don't see a field that can be
used to sort the 2 panel, 3 panel, etc in that order for
each size. If there is, please sort the query the same way
you want the report sorted and post that sample.

My overall goals for this project that I am working on is getting our price
books into a database format so we can be more streamlined and accurate. In
terms of the report design, I am trying to make it look like our previous
price pages that were all input by hand, as this is what has been requested
of me. In doing that, I realize this may not be the most efficient or logical
way for a report to be set up, but drastically changing the look of our price
pages was not an option.

Each door has a total of 17 different sizes with a corresponding price for
each size. Within those sizes, there are two different descriptions. One is
1-3/8" and the other is 1-3/8" Bifold. The doors in 1-3/8" have a product
code that is different from the 1-3/8" Bifold doors. I need to have the
description listed once above their corresponding sizes and then the code
listed once above it's corresponding price column. At the top of the page,
above each price column, I need to list the door# and the door name.

In regards to not being able to use that code in the group header, I'm a bit
confused. I have it in there and it's working the way it's suppose to. It
displays the Description above the size column and then the codes of the
price columns.

As for the order, I have a Door Order field and a Type Order field. The door
order being the order I want the doors to appear, ie 2 panel, then 3 panel,
etc. The type order field is for the order of the description types on the
page, ie 1-3/8", then 1-3/8" Bifold. I then have the order of how the sizes
and prices appear based on the ID field. Everything is in numerical order by
size in my tables, therefore making it easy to just sort by the ID field that
is also in numerical order.

I hope I understood your questions correctly and this helps clear up some
confusion.

I have been tied up over a long weekend, but I am still
trying to come up with a way to deal with this arrangement.
