Duplicated tasks

Hi all... I'm newbie working with Project 2003 server and
I have a short question about a little issue we get.
Yestearday I did a copy of a task group, pasted it in the
same project, and then I deleted the previous one. So now
the users have duplicated tasks in the web acces view.
Pls, do you know how to solve this? how to clean those
tasks???

When you perform a cut and paste you are essentially performing a delete and
create action. Chances are the users are seeing Xs next to these tasks in
their timesheets. You need to consider two crucial points:

1) When you delete a task, you should always close it out first.
a. Set all remaining work values for all resources assigned to the task
to zero
b. Republish the tasks
c. OK to delete

2) If what you really wanted to accomplish was to re-sequence the tasks
(move them) to a new position in the work plan, then the steps to take are
as follows:
a. If necessary, disconnect the task or block of tasks from the work
path unencumbered from dependencies that would otherwise distort the
schedule. This includes de-linking and necessary out-denting.
b. Select the tasks or block of tasks and click and drag it to the new
position
c. Re-link and indent as necessary
d. Publish new and changed to notify your resources of changes to the
schedule
