E-mail hangs in Outbox in Office XP

We are running Exchange 5.5 with Office XP and Office 2003. Some users
with Office XP send e-mail and it hangs in there outbox till you hit F5.
All the office products are up to date with the most recent patches.
And this is a sporadic issue. Any suggestions on what can be changed in
outlook xp to help fix this issue?
