I like to bold important parts of my messages and have been selecting edit
from the file menu, making the bold changes and saving the message without
any trouble until recently. This never did this in 2000, so it is either
caused by XP or Microsoft has made a change to the way this function acts.
Now when I choose edit (for example to an email that was a reply to one of
mine), Word opens. I do not have "Use Microsoft Word to edit email messages"
checked and neither does the most important people I communicate with. It
seems like it does it when the person I email replies to that email, but not
when they send me the message first. They assure me they do not have "Use
Microsoft Word to edit email messages" checked. Is there something that will
affect the replies and not the original messages? Thanks Frank
