i want to use "calendar wizard" to create a calendar spanning august
2004-july 2005. however, i don't want to use any of the three styles that
the calendar wizard offers. is there a way to create one's own template for
the wizard to use, inserting the appropriate dates automatically?

I guess the following could be modified to do that:

' Macro created 11/14/98 by Doug Robbins to make calendar
' Modified 11/29/98 to add shading to weekends and "non-date" cells. '
Dim Message, Title, Default, Calyear, Thisyear, nyday
Thisyear = Year(Date)
Message = "Enter the year for which you want to create a calendar" '
Set prompt.
Title = "Calendar Maker" ' Set title.
Default = Thisyear ' Set default.
Calyear = InputBox(Message, Title, Default)
With ActiveDocument.PageSetup
.Orientation = wdOrientLandscape
.TopMargin = CentimetersToPoints(2)
.BottomMargin = CentimetersToPoints(1)

Doug,

I tried using your macro and got a compile error (syntax error) on the
line "Set prompt." Corrected that by moving the phrase back, actually
following the single quote on the previous line, and got another
compile error down the page a bit. Compile errors just continued....
I'm using Word 2002... is the structure of the VBA that different, or
have I some problem with my installation?

No, it's probably just word-wrapping cause by the emal program.
