Edit function on macro tool will not highlight/function

I cannot activate the edit function for a macro. I thought it had something to do with the share workbook function but that didn't help. I have used the file in previous iterations and saved it under different names. Looking back at the past history I have previous versions that do highlight the edit function.

I assume you can see the macro name in the dialog box?

Is it possible you have protected the VBA Project?

Hit ALT + F11 and select the workbook/project and
right-click>Properties>Protection tab.

Is it locked for viewing?

You will probably need a password if that's the case.
