Edit own posts

I subscribe to a number of forums and many of them allow the poster to update
their own posts. Unless I'm missing something, I don't see that
functionality here.

I like this feature because, as I learn more about a problem I posted, I can
go back and update the post with new information rather than posting replies
to my posts (see my post on RM not seeing projects - so far I'm up to 4 posts
that provide clarification and debug info on the problem).

Thanks for listening.

Sorry Doug but I don't think that what you are suggesting is going to be
possible.
The newsgroups are sent around the world and replicated on a large number of
sesrvers. Keeping edits to posts synchronized would be an impossible
challenge.

Hmmm, funny, Lotus Notes does that without any problem at all...

Sorry, unkind comment but it's true. Say what you will about Notes, it does
replication and user rights management better than anything else out there.

Jack, thanks for the reply, very much appreciated.

Gary,

Point taken. I have only just realized that this form allows for cross
posting to news groups.

In the Notes/Domino world, all of the forums are replicated to other Dom
servers so replication in that environment works like a charm.

You're right, if Domino did hook into non Domino sites (which is entirely
possible), there would be no attempt to replicate.

I guess I as assuming that this forum acted in a similar way - SQL Server to
SQL Server and that doesn't seem to be correct.

Thanks for the conversation. Much appreciated.
