edit screen is black

Hi,

I have been having a strange problem where my edit screen
is totally black. Removing the background fixes the
problem, but any objects with any fill colour remain
black. In slide show mode everything is fine, but editing
is impossible.

I have tried the obvious stuff, rebooted my machine,
played with the colours, etc, nothing has worked so far.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you updated your video driver?

Hi Sonia,

No, I haven't updated my video driver lately.

A couple more bits of info: both the slide sorter view
and the slide summary tabs along the left hand side are
both fine, just the middle edit screen is messed up.

Go to the website of the computer manufacturer or the video card
manufacturer. If it's a laptop, the computer manufacturer should be used.
Look for drivers, often under the category of support. The driver for my
card gets updated every 3-6 months.
