Email keeps trying to be resent

I have an email that Outlook keeps trying to resend (Mcafee keeps popping up
and stating the last few sent emails contained similair subject or body
content. The repeipiant has reported that they have recieved thesame email
at least 10 time.

I have not messages in my out box, I have deleted the email from my sent
folder.

What can I do?

Hi Bruce

We met this problem in the past. It happened when we used an old PST file version (97/XP) and it's size become larger than 1.8GB. When this happened the file was located in the outbox then send to the client and went the system tried to move the file to the sent box it couldn't do it with the result that I resend the message again, etcetera

I am not sure whether your problem has the same cause but if you have a very large PST file it's worth checking if you are getting close to the 2GB

My PST (I have ran scanpst and it report "only minor inconsistantcies" and I
did repair) is 854 MB I am running Windows XP and OL XP setup with POP3
