Email text in Journal - Outlook 2003

I would like to archive the text of an e-mail message rather than a
shortcut... the shortcut of course takes me to an e-mail which I would
really just rather delete.

Thanks-

Your wording leads me to believe you think the journal is an archive. It's
not. If you really want to archive things, click Help and search for
"autoarchive".

Brian -

Thanks for your response. I know what autoarchving is and I already
use it.

What I want is in my e-mail journal entry to see what I sent in the
e-mail. I don't want to oepn an entry simply to have to AGAIN click on
another link to see what I wrote...

To me it's non-sensical to have a link to a shortcut...

Have you looked at the Business Contact Manager add-in that comes with Office 2003 Pro? Even if you don't need the other contact management features, it does a really good job of maintaining a complete history of messages (except no attachments) for people you're interested in.
