email won't donwload

using outlook 97. will connect, but won't download mail.
Mailwasher will view or can go on webmail and it works
fine. After opening outlook, when I go to shut computer
down, I get a "ThorConnWndClass" file in a blue box that
has to shut down first. This was all working fine until
last week. ???
