Is this a PowerPoint question? Are you trying to open a PowerPoint presentation
attached to your email? If so, what program do you use to read your mail?

I seem to remember that there is an issue with this. I don't remember if it
is an SP2 update issue, or is corrected by SP2. Check the machines that can
vs. the machines that can not open the files for differences in the update
levels.

The work-around is to save the pps or ppt file to the local hard drive then
open it from there.

There is a problem with Windows XP SP2 on a system that only has the PowerPoint
2003 Viewer installed and Outlook Express is the mail client. Users cannot open
a .ppt or .pps attachment. But the way the question was written Debra didn't
mention an attachment or the mail client or what program wasn't opening, so she
could be just having a problem using Outlook to open an email.
