Embedding font

Samir Gambhir

I searched the discussion forum but could not find any solution to the
problem I am going to post.
I have embedded a map image from another program (ArcGIS) to my publisher
document. The map has an symbol which does not show up on computers outside
our office network. I beleive it is an issue of embedding the font in the
document, but my tools->Commercial printing tools->Fonts window does not list
any fonts at all.
Thanks

I'm a relative newb here, but I don't think you can "embed" a font in
Publisher at all. To be readable on a different computer/network, the
font has to also exist at that end.

The solution to make the map readable is to distribute the font
elsewhere, or convert your file to a PDF.

You _can_, but it generally causes more problems than it solves.

Send a copy of the font file along with the file, or use Pack and Go, or
convert to a PDF.
