embedding ms document object into master slide as autolayout area?

I want "small caps" as part of my Master Slide. I can make it part of my
regular slide by inserting the text as a Microsoft Word Document Object. But
this does not seem to transfer with the Master Slides. Any suggestions.

Since it is not a native feature of PowerPoint, you can't set it as a default
setting in the Slide Master.
