empty messages

K

Karen

Using WinXP Professional and Office 2003 Professional.

Problem: Many of the messages I receive, when opened, are
blank. The headers are there just fine, but there's
nothing in the body of them.

I have deleted and re-created the account (POP3, not
Exchange).

I have returned all security settings to their default
levels.

What else could be the problem?

The problem are dorks on the Internet. Not your fault. They are being sent that way. One thing you can do is bring up one of these blank messages, left click the body of the message near the bottom and while holding the left mouse button down, drag up to the top. You will then see if there is really any content in it. What a lot of spammers do is this:

<body>
<img src="http://myspamsite.com/youarenowinmylog.gif" width="0" height="0"><font color="white">Bunch of stupid garbage</font>

You will see this stuff if you do what I suggested above. Otherwise it is just an empty message the purpose of which is only known to those who do it I guess.
