Emptying deleted E-mail file

I received an obviously tainted E-mail which I deleted
without opening. When I go to empty the deleted messages
file, I receive the message "This program has performed an
illegal operation, and will be shut down". When I restart
Outlook,I can go to the deleted messages file, and delete
all messages 1 by 1, except for this one message. If I
attempt to delete that one message, I get shut down again.
Help!
