Enter key no longer works in Word

Ok. I'm about at my wits end here. I installed Dragon
Naturally Speaking at home to do minutes from work. It's
a voice recognition program.Right after that I noticed
the Enter key no longer works in any
word documents including my Outlook Express email and
Works or Notepad. I switched keyboards thinking that was
the problem but it wasn't. I uninstalled the Dragon and
it still does it. No files were left behind. I disabled
Word from Norton. I ran scan disk, Dr. whatever comes
with XP, Norton systemworks to check everything and fixed
whatever errors came up. Nothing. Each time I tried
something else, I immediately rebooted. Still happens but
only after I've been on Internet Explorer. The Enter Key
works fine BEFORE I go online but after that it stops
working. So I installed IE again but I'm still having the
problem. I'm clueless now. I also checked of course for
any virus but I'm clean. I uninstalled / reinstalled Word
to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

You expected it to Work? It is a M$ product after all...

It's a weird one this. Everything points to it being a
hardware problem but it's actually software related. So
the question to M$ is what in IE interacts with the
Keyboard beyond you type stuff in it? There's nothing I
can see to configure keyboard keys.

Cause if you want a quick fix it might be time to give
your hard drive a good formatting. Sometimes it's just not
worth waiting for M$ to respond.

The only place you have mentioned looking is in Control
Panel. I reckon it maybe worth checking out your Regional
Settings, and see if there's anything untoward been lodged
in the Keyboard config.

Thank you for responding. I did check out the area you
told me to, however in my regional settings and under
keyboard, there's no place for me to check the keyboard
config. I have to admit, I'm a little confused. I'm using
XP by the way, I neglected to mention that before. Thanks
again. Still stumped but plugging away until I get a
miracle fix here. :)
