Entering Actuals Causing Previous Week's Actuals to Disappear

I am using MS Project 2002. In the Task Usage view I enter actuals by week.
On some of the tasks this causes last week's actuals to disappear! Since this
happens with only a couple of my resources I am stumpted as to why.

Any idea what I may be doing wrong?
