Enterprise custom fields and project summary task

I finally figured out that if the Tools, Options, Views, Show Project Summary
Task is checked, and changes are made in the Global template regarding
Enterprise custom fields, the changes aren't reflected in the project
(regardless of the Global Template being reloaded).

If you uncheck the Show Project Summary Task, any outstanding changes happen
immediately.

Why is this? Is this a bug?
