Enterprise standar calendars error

S

SONIA

Hi all,
when I create a new project and try to publish it, I get
the next message:

"Enterprise standard calendars are needed.

Enterprise standard calendars are required to:

Buid a team for a non-enterprise project
Save a non-enterprise project into the server
Import resources to the enterprise

This may result in changes to schedule dates. Do you want
to continue?"

What is this problem due to?
How can I solve it?

Thank you very much in advance.

SONIA.

The warning message is displayed whenever a project contains a local
calendar, that is, a calendar that is not found in the Enterprise Global.
This warning is one of the many ways of enforcing an enterprise environment
on all Microsoft Project users, and is actually a good thing. I am assuming
that you clicked "Yes" when asked about continuing, so solve this little
issue so that the warning does not get displayed again, do the following:

1. Open the project from the Project Server database
2. Click Tools - Organizer
3. Click the Calendars tab
4. From the list on the right side of the dialog box, select any Calendars
that are not enterprise calendars
5. Click the Delete button
6. Click the Close button
7. Save the project

If you have created unique calendars that are specifically needed in your
project, then you should contact your Project Server administrator and ask
him/her to create enterprise versions of those same calendars. When I
consult with a corporate client, I typically find that their company needs
one or more enterprise calendars to meet the unique scheduling needs of
their company. For example, to handle work scheduled on a 4-day work week
(10 hours per day), we end up creating a calendar called something like "TPP
4x10" with the appropriate schedule on that calendar. Many companies need
to schedule work only on a weekend, so we end up creating a calendar called
something like "TPP Weekend Work" with work scheduled only on a Saturday or
Sunday from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. There are endless varieties of enterprise
calendars that may need to be created for task and resource scheduling.
Hope this little bit of extra info helps.
