Entourage 2001 hangs when try to print

I'm running Entourage 2001 9.0.2 (4011) on Mac OS 9.2.2 on a PowerComputing
clone that has a G4 processor. When I try to print certain received
messages, the computer hangs before the Print dialog box shows, and I have
to reboot.

Hi

It sounds like those certain messages might be putting the memory
requirement for Entourage over the setting that it has allotted in Finder.

Try raising the preferred setting in FInder using GetInfo. Add at least 10
meg (10000) and see if that cures the ill.

Thanks for the suggestion. My Entourage memory setting were 20M minimum and
30M Preferred. I changed those to 30M Minimum and 40M Preferred, but still
get the hang when try to print that message.

The message contains an attached Word doc. One thing I noted when doing View
/ Source:

It says "mail reader does not understand...". Could that shed some light?

I have no problems with other messages that have Word attachments. Here's
the View / Source from one of them. I says it is "mime" but no "does not
understand":

You can print!

I've been trying to get my perfectly good Laserwriter IINTX to print from OS
X for a whole year. No dice. I say its a conspiracy to make us buy all new
printers.

Entourage has been the last of my worries. At least I can always send mail
and read newsgroups. I just can't print mail messages or anything without
building perfect PDF files and going into Classic mode to print. Well,
sometimes. But not more than once in a month so far.

Sorry for going so far off topic. But the thought of printing _anything_
elicits peculiar emotions for me now.
