Entourage 2008 All-Day Events listed one day prior than ExchangeServer

I use a hosted exchange server. My time-zone is set on the hosted exchange
server for EDT. Everything sync'd correctly to my PC's. I have recently
changed to Mac and therefore entourage 2008. I have set all of my
time-zones to EDT. When I sync with the exchange server, now all of my
All-day events are shifted to the day prior. If I enter an All-day event on
my Mac via entourage, it shows up on the exchange server one day ahead.

I also have a windows mobile Treo that syncs to the exchange server. All of
the info on it matches the exchange server.

Here are the versions:

Hosted exchange server: Exchange 2007, www.4smartphone.net
(I can enter All-day events via Outlook on my office PC or via Outlook Web
Access - both result in the same thing described above)

Entourage 2008: 12.0.1

All time-zones are the same.

Please help!

Thanks in advance.

Hi Jon!

Your service provider needs to apply the hotfix mentioned in this article:

"An Entourage user may receive a meeting request that does not
correspond to the meeting time that is specified by the meeting
organizer in an Exchange Server 2003 organization"
<http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925376>

Hope this helps!

Are you absolutely certain that both the OS time zone on your Mac (set in
the Date and Time System Preference) and the time zone in Entourage (set in
Entourage\ Preferences\General Preferences\Calendar are the same? Most new
Macs come with their OS time zone set to Pacific. Despite your protests, it
really does sound like the OS time zone and the Entourage time zone are
different.

Just ran across this today..... Location X (get the plugin for Entourage)
The update adds support for Exchange accounts. Location X allows you to,
with a single click, change network, time zone, email settings and more all
at once. AutoLocate - the ability to have Location X automatically determine
where you are based on what AirPort network you are connected to.

I get exactly the same issue with my work Exchange server when connecting
using Entourage 2008. The dates are all correct with my PC and Nokia N95.
Have you found a solution?

Ben.

Hi there,

I'm having exactly the same problem here as well.

All-day events appear one day earlier in Entourage 2008 with SP1 than they do in Exchange.

My organisation is running Exchange 2007 SP1, and the server is located in Seattle. I am in London, and I've verified that my time zone in system preferences is set to "BST" and the closest city is "London - England".

In Entourage, in the Calendar Preferences, my time zone is set to GMT +01:00 London.

I would guess that this may be something to do with Entourage not detecting BST (British Summer Time), or some variation on that correctly.

Items created in Entourage appear correctly in Outlook, but all day events created in Outlook (and OWA) do not appear correctly in Entourage.

This definitely appears to be a bug in Entourage and would be very happy to provide more data to the team to help squash it.

Best regards,

David.

Just replying to myself here, the KB article posted above <http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925376> does seem relevant as it describes the problem exactly. However I know we're using Exchange 2007 SP1 which the article states resolves the problem.

Perhaps there is something further at fault with Entourage / Exchange?

Did you also make the registry key change mentioned in the KB article?

Unfortunately I've got no visibility of our Exchange infrastructure, but I've asked our helpdesk to raise a change request to implement it. Will update the thread if it resolves the problem.

I'm noting this problem as well and wondered if there'd been any progress? I
use OWA, a Blackberry 8830, and Office 2007 and Entourage 2008 (on separate
computers). On my Mac, I get the date error message (Event time zone v. my
computer's time zone yadda yadda) AND I get all day events showing on the
previous day. Trying to figure out what I had done wrong, I noticed that the
Mac correctly observes EDT as GMT-4 and the Blackberry shows ET (no option
for EDT or EST). Since BES, OWA, Exchange, and Outlook all jive, can't we
assume that this is an Entourage issue? Is there a workaround or update? We
can't all go around with our meetings at the wrong time and on the wrong
days?!
