entourage crashes everytime i hit send/receive/retrieving email

everytime i hit send receive button -- when retrieving email--entourage unexpectedly quit over and over. the message that comes with it is this----

Can you create a new Identity in Entourage and enter the account info. Set
to "Leave on server" for testing and see if the problem occurs in the new
Identity. If yes, then it's database corruption.

How to rebuild:

Note: Before you go any further, if you have an Identity that will open,
make a copy in the Finder. As long as you have a database that will open,
your data can be saved. Often during the rebuild process things can go wrong
and you end up losing your data. This is added insurance giving your the
option to try different approaches.

If the problem doesn't happen in the new Identity, then create a new User
account in System Preferences. Switch to the New User by logging out/in or
use Fast User Switching. Test Entourage first in a new blank Identity. If
that fails then we know it's your base OS files. I suggest first downloading
the combo updater. Doing so overwrites potentially problem-causing files.
Combo updaters will install on the same version as they¹re applying‹no need
to roll back or do a clean install.

Thank you!!
Though I stumbled at first -- when I rebuilt the database--it only lasted for a few seconds before it got kicked out again.

So, what I did, I copied the database to a server and deleted my entourage completely--custom installed the entourage from the packaging -as if it was brand new, and then replaced the existing new database with the old one and it works okay now.

unless you think i've might ruined some of the stuff in my system--- I think this is okay now.

Sounds like your Office install was compromised. Thanks for the feedback.

Hi Diane,
I have the same problem. Entourage 2008 crashes everytime I try to send and receive email from my hotmail account.
The console.app says "Duprecate font collection name Windows Office Comptible detected. The Collection at Windows Office Compatible.collection is ignored."

I tried:
-removing online the last "maybe corrupted" e-mails
-rebulding the database
-creating a new identity (the program ran ok)

I wounder if the corrupted email could be older. I erased the recent emails but no EVERY email.

Sounds like a font problem. Is this an HTML message? If yes, toggle HTML off
and make it plain text. Does it send now?
