My problem:
I'm able to connect to the server - public folders are shown as well.
But Entourage do not sync my account. I'm also unable to send emails. It
worked before but I guess that our IT departement did something with the
Exchange Server.
It doesn't matter if I entered the Exchange name or the OWA address.

If it worked before, it shouldn't matter wither you use the server name
of the OWA address though at this point, it certainly wouldn't hurt to
try. It looks like it's not in your hand though and your IT folks need
to correct what they broke...

Below is my original question re: Entourage signatures. Below that is the response I received. While I appreciate the effort, it doesn't really answer my question and did not solve the problem. Does anyone else have any other ideas?
I cannot get my signature to appear on each new or reply email. I
have to do it manually each time I send an email. Yes, I went to
Tools, then set my signature up and the box is checked. What am I
missing?

You need to set your signature as the default in your account. Look
under Tools --> Accounts... --> Options.

Hello Corentin
Thanks for the answer. I guess also that it is in the hand of the IT Departement. As Entourage is not officially supportet by our IT departement, I think I have to wait for OS X 10.6. (where MAPI will be supported).

Cheers

I don't know where you've read that. I have never seen any hint that
MAPI will be supported.
Apple uses ActiveSync for the iPhone and might do the same for Mail in
Snow Leopard. Or it could use WebServices (which will restrict it to
Exchange 2007). I'm not sure they made it public but I would be really
really really surprised if they used MAPI.

I have read that mail in snow leopard will only work with exchange 07
which ndicates it is using web services.

Since MAPI is being deprecated even on the windows side of things, it
would not be a very bright move to start writing a MAPI compliant
application at this stage of the game.

New problem. Entourage stopped displaying new email in my office Exchange account. I can still receive new mail on other (e.g., personal) accounts. I can send email via Exchange. I can access the Exchange calendar. If I access the office webmail system and delete messages from my inbox, they show up in Deleted Items in Entourage! The problem is only with the inbox. Rebuilding the database did not help! Last time this happened (six months ago), it required deleting my main work account in Entourage and recreating it, forcing a complete synchronization with Exchange. I hope there is an easier way.

OSX 10.5.6
Entourage 2008 v12.1.5

Thanks for any suggestions!

Never mind - I found the solution to my problem by experimenting. Control-click your inbox, select Folder Properties, and click Empty Cache. That action solved the problem by emptying the inbox and resynching it with Exchange.

I spent many hours working on this problem. There are two things I had to do to get it working. I have Entourage 2008 with all the latest patches and my Exchange 2007 server is running through SBS 2008 on Windows Server 2008 with all the patches.

First: I had to use the syntax: <https://[prefix.domain.com]/exchange/[email protected]> in the server field. No other format would work and I tried every variation I could think of and that are recommended on most of the boards discussing this issue. Using the auto setup did not work even though all the fields populated with what seemed like the correct values.

Second: When I installed the FTP service for IIS 7 (separate download from Microsoft), the service breaks the way the Exchange subfolder works in the Exchange 2007 installation. Without the FTP through IIS7 service installed, the Exchange folder automatically forwards to the OWA appropriately (test by hitting the folder via a browser). When the FTP service is removed, the forward works appropriately again. It took me two weeks to find this issue. I don't know exactly what is going on (I don't have the time to investigate) but the installation definitely breaks something.
