- will we be able to use Entourage 2008 with Exchange 2003?




Yes you will have no problems. I have a similar set-up to you, I even have AppleMail and iPhones all connecting to exchange 2003

try starting a new identity and recreating the exchange account -
everything should be downloaded properly.

When I try to sync everything, Entourage takes my contacts but wont take
the info from my iCal calendars. Why




You will not find this info anywhere, but if you export your ical calendar(s) to your desktop, then drag the icon to the entourage icon in the dock, it will import the calendar into your main calendar. From there you can select all events and move them to another calendar. I have no idea why this is not documented BUT IT WORKS! (Entourage 2008)

Hi David!

If you have an answer or comment for the original poster then please
respond within that thread. Otherwise, if you're looking for a solution
to your own problem -- no matter how similar to someone else's -- then
begin your own thread. Similar problems may not have the same solutions.

Microsoft does not offer cross-grade licensing. If you have Windows
licenses but want to upgrade and change to Macintosh licensing then you
will need to purchase full Macintosh products.

If your company has a Microsoft volume license agreement then speak with
your Microsoft sales representative to see if they can offer a cross-grade.

Hello. After installing the latest 12.1.3 updater, the one that specifically promises a fix in Entourage that will clear the error message "Unable to establish a secure connection with [server] because the server name or IP address does not match the name ..." I am still having the pesky message pop up every single time I startup the app., just like it did before the update. What kind of "fix" was that ?

I'm having the same problem myself - had have forever. I can't fix it

This is the subject of another thread on this board, with a couple of
work-arounds. The thread is called "Unexpected failure, please try later.
Error: -17099"

In the latest useful post, Diane Ross explains:

This is a known issue after installing the 12.1.3 update.

Microsoft¹s MacBU will deliver a corrective update in the coming weeks. In
the interim, find workarounds and additional details on the Entourage Help

The easiest solution if you have a backup copy of Office 2008 12.1.2, is to
revert to the previous version.

I'd recommend ending this thread and following the existing thread and it's
recommendations.

I was successfully able to restore to an older version of my MS Office
folder (in \Applications) from Time Machine and it worked flawlessly.

We're experiencing problems with editing addresses and calendar events
from Entourage 2004/2008. It seems that when you close your app after
creating addresses or events the events are read only when you try editing them. When you do this in web access everything works like it should. We are using the public address book and calendar. This is true for all users. Solutions anyone?

No, Entourage uses WebDAV over HTTP, Outlook typically uses MAPI. (I'm
simplifying.) This is technically irrelevant as WebDAV is capable of most,
if not all, of the same features - but there are design and development
decisions in what features Entourage will and will not (yet) support.

As a consultant I travel to a different corporate offices and often

find > that most of the Apple compatibility features in Exchange have

As long as the Exchange server is not ancient and supports Outlook Web
Access, which most do, it should work fine with Entourage. Many of the
so-called security reasons turn out to be misunderstandings of how Exchange
(and security) works and general laziness by IT folks.

Hitting on the small more tab at the bottom of the date often freezes the entire Entourage program...HELP!!

Everytime I try to open or view that date (and see how many duplicate event notes exist), Entourage freezes. It is version 11.4..Please help!! Thanks!
