Im having a problem with Office 2008 and Exchange 2003 sp2. I have setup
the entourage exchange account with no issue except that her tasks did
not come over. Do these need to be brought over manually, and or will
they ever sync with the Exchange server?

The problem is that Entourage will simply not sync tasks over Exchange
:-(

I just upgraded to Office 2008. The install was great, however the Out

of Office > status is temporarily unavailable because Entourage cannot
connect to the > server." It is definitely connected and I am linking

What am I missing.

Is this an Exchange account? It only works in Exchange.

Yes, it is an exchange account.

I made the same mistake as some and bought the only version Best Buy had
(H&S) before reading the blogs, box or other information. Excuse me for
being an idiot and assuming it would work like 2004.

The real idiot is MS - but that's hardly surprising.

Why not just run them both? If you're going to use Entourage 2008, then you'll HAVE to use something else to check your Exchange mail (i.e., Safari), so just re-install the Entourage piece of 2004. Both versions run fine on the same system....just NOT at the same time. In order for me to get it to work right, I uninstalled everything, installed Entourage 2004 and then the entire 2008 suite (and clicking on the option to not remove prior components). Works like a charm (that that MS!).

I’m having the same issue. I’ve set the sync up through pocket Mac which
I understand has issues syncing directly with Entourage 2008 so I set
my blackberry to sync with ical and iaddressbook etc and then set Entourage
to sync with the ical/iaddressbook etc. All works well for the iaddressbook
but it won’t sync up the ical which makes the nifty new feature in Entourage
(forget what it’s called) of seeing your calendar for the day on the desktop
useless.

If anyone knows why this happens or a workaround post please.

Make sure that you open Entourage and then open iCal when you are ready
to sync

I have developed a strange problem with my Entourage 2008. When I compose an email, the typing are very slow and every character show in 1-2 seconds after I have pressed it on the keyboard! Can anyone tell me that is going on? I appreciate your help and your suggestions.

Hi All,
My company is planning to implement a new email signature. Signature files were created on MS Office 2007. Everything looks fine on the PC side; however when you send an email to an Entourage user the email address doubles;
hyperlink looks like: (e-mail address removed) <mailto:[email protected]>
Does anyone have an idea of what this happen? What can I do in my end to prevent this to happen?
Also, would like to be able to change the hyperlink color to other than blue; is that possible?
Thanks.

Complex email is broken in Entourage. You also can't send newsletters with
HTML and hyperlinks, or tables. Yes, Entourage mangles HTML email pretty
badly. It's one of the top complaints that Microsoft is currently ignoring.

You can't fix it, and you can't do anything about the hyperlink color. All
you can do is switch email clients.

I just purchased a brand new version of Entourage, and after installing it and setting up my Gmail account, the "Send" button is not highlighted and won't let me send any emails I write.

What am I doing wrong? This seems like something simple.

By the way, it will sync with Gmail to send/receive.

Help,

Please do not hijack threads as this makes it difficult for people to help
you. Your problem has nothing to do with Exchange.

That being said, a number of reasons can explain this behaviour. Can you
verify if Gmail is set up correctly? Follow the steps highlighted on this
page:

p_service.html>

Or, if the link above does not work:

Also, are you sure that there's a recipient, or at least a valid e-mail
address, in the To line? If there is no proper recipient, Entourage won't
send the message.

Is there a way to receive notification that sent mail has been read or displayed on the recipient's machine? I was able to do this in outlook on a PC but cannot figure out how to do this in entourage.

I would also like to have a HTML signature but find this impossible to
do. Is there a way to do this? Also I cannot forward HTML at the mo cept
by forwarding as an attachment. I used to be able to simply forward until
I accepted an update. I there a setting I missed? J

For the second time I accept an update proposed by entourage automatically
and then lose all my emails and contacts.

Others have seem problem? If so, weshould all stop buying microsoft products?

Have just accepted the latest Office update - and have lost all of my Entourage data! There was no warning or option to avoid problem. It was just the typical message from 'auto-update'.

Where do I look for the original file where my Entourage data was stored?

The 'Help' does not refer to dealing with problems caused by an update to the same version (i.e. it distinguishes only Entourage 2004, Entourage X and Entourage 2008). It only refers to merging identities from the different versions, not how to recover data that the update has wiped.

Another great product from Microsoft! (I now remember why I bought an Apple computer.) Unfortunately, I have been persevering with its Office Suite.

Perhaps it is time to bite the bullet and go to a mail client that is reliable.

Anyone experience the same problem with this latest update? Anyone have a suggestion to finding my Entourage 2008 data which has vanished?

Hopeful of some assistance.

Not 100% accurate - sending Complex HTML is none-existent in Entourage.
It never has been in the feature set, so it is not really true to say it
is broken.

You _can_ send newsletters etc by creating them in Word and using the
'Send to > email recipient (as HTML)' menu item under the File menu
_in_Word_.

The issue with the target of hyperlinks being dispayed is 'by design' -
it is intended to stop phisher masking the true target of a link by
hiding it in the HTML code.

If you don't like the behaviour on any of these points, then please send
feedback to the developers by using the 'send feedbac' menu item under
the Help menu in Entourage.

I use Entourage at work. When I open the Contact file in the Public Folder of my company's Exchange Account, I can get all of the contact information EXCEPT the Category Information does not come over (which it does for all of the Wintel users who open that file on their computers). What need I do to get at the Category information on the company Exchange Server?

Thanks.

There is nothing you can do. It's currently not supported.
