What happens if you move the Microsoft User Data folder in Documents to the
desktop and launch Entourage? If that works, try moving your Identity folder
into the new MUD folder and see if it will open.

Here's the latest announcement regarding Apple's Snow Leopard OSX update. Good bye Microsoft. This is what happens when you don't pay attention to your customers needs:

"Snow Leopard includes out-of-the-box support for Microsoft Exchange 2007 built into Mail, Address Book, and iCal. Mac OS X uses the Exchange Web Services protocol to provide access to Exchange Server 2007. Because Exchange is supported on your Mac and iPhone, you'll be able to use them anywhere with full access to your email, contacts, and calendar."

Does anyone know how to request confirmations of when emails are delivered and/or read? This is a very common feature in Outlook, but is not readily apparent in Entourage. Why not?

The company I work for recently integrated a new automated"system" for job requests that come into my department. When a job is posted an automated email is sent to the person assigned to the project. The problem I am having is the automated emails are showing up with garbled text. The only way I can read them is to hit "reply". I beleive the new system is running from an exchange server and I am running Entourage 2004 v.11.3.6-HELP!

In addition to trashing the com.microsoft.browserfont.cache, you can also
try trashing the tasmanbrowser.cache, which will be found in your
~/Library/Caches.

For garbled text, the most common cause is corrupt font caches. These can
easily be cleared from the system with Font Finagler. Download and run the
application. First click the "Inspect Font Cache Files" button, then the
"Clean Font Cache Files" button. You must then restart your Mac. Other
utilities that can clear your font caches are Cocktail and OnyX. These last
two are powerful utilities which can do far more than just cleaning font
caches. Font Finagler is the safer choice as it performs only the one
function.

If this does not fix the problem, it could be a setting on the server.

"Better yet, delete all the code for Entourage and port Outlook (with the SAME feature set and functionality) over to Mac. THAT IS WHAT PEOPLE...EVERYDAY WORKING STUDENTS AND MAC BUSINESS PEOPLE WANT!!!"

while i don't necessarily care for Brian's capitalization, i do see his point.

mac users get Microsoft Office for Mac to integrate with the PC environment. if not for that simple point, we'd all be happily chugging along on our iWork suites, iCal and Mail.

can of course see why a perfectly working Office for Mac would be a definite no-no for Redmond. the only thing left would be for Jobs to address the price point and we'd see a massive exodus to OS X, and eventually, to Mac-based office and productivity software (and why not).

all i want is to get email without having to log into OWA from a browser. why is that so hard?

Does Entourage work with Exchange 2007? My server was recently upgraded to from 2003 to 2007 and now it will not connect. I have a WM6 phone that still connects and syncs. Any clues?

Running 10.5 os with all the latest updated for the entire system.

Yes, it should work with the same settings. Make sure your admins know
they must install Legacy Applications support on the server.

"Entourage requires Legacy Applications software for functionality with
Exchange Server 2007"

Hope this helps!

hi,

My entourage connects to my work mail via IMAP, all my mail is there and all messages are sync in real-time. Even my contacts are there, despite these being a student / home edition, however, i noticed that none of my subfolders for my mail and contacts are not there.

In my outlook at work, I have a number of subfolders in my mail under my inbox. The main folders show up but the subfolder beneath those do not?

Does anyone have any ideas how I can get my subfolders to display or is this another tight restriction for Entourage home edition?

Since this is IMAP, it's possible you just need to "Subscribe" to the
missing mail folders. Click on your account name in the folder list, which
will bring up a list of folders on the right. Any that are greyed out are
not currently visible in the folder list. You can control-click them and
choose Subscribe.

I'm not familiar with subfolders for contacts, nor does IMAP access to an
Exchange server access your Outlook address book.

Strange situation - I've done my best to find others with the same problem, but this looks like a strange duck, so here goes...

I'm running 10.5 with all of the updates through today, so the OS is up to date.

I have the Student and Teacher’s Edition (STE) 2008. I have exchange outsource service form Mailtrust, which has a license for the exchange enabled version of entourage (EEE for short). So, I'm trying to use STE everything but EEE from Mailtrust.

Things seem to be funky with the 12.1.0 update. I've tried every combination of removing office, removing the profile and updating various components of software one at a time, but...

If I install STE first and then 12.1.0, I can not get EEE to work – it can’t read the profile. And I can not run 12.1.0 as it says it “You cannot install Office 2008 SP1 Update (12.1.0) on this volume. A version of the software required to install this update was not found on this volume.” a version of the software to

I can install EEE and then run the 12.1.0 update, and then install STE. But I can’t use the 12.1.0 update on the STE portion of the software then – it gets upset with another error. OK – so let’s run STE without the 12.1.0, but then it can’t read the profile. I can delete the profile, but then when I re-create a profile, I’m still incompatible between those things updated to 12.1.0 and those not. (and I really need to keep things updated with 12.1.0, so that is not a long term solution).

And I can install STE and update to 12.1.0 A-OK, but then I can install EEE, but it can then not read the profile – and obviously wants the 12.1.0 update – then the 12.1.0 update fails.

So I can get EEE up and running, or STE. But not both.

Please help! I’ve been at this for about three weeks off and on. I’m about to be an early reverse adapter. My IBM Thinkpad never looked so good. Don’t make me do it!

Thanks much,
Rich Biby

I just upgraded to Office 2008. The install was great, however the Out of Office doesn't work in Entourage. I am getting the message: "Out of Office status is temporarily unavailable because Entourage cannot connect to the server." It is definitely connected and I am linking to my companies global directory as well as sending and receiving email. What am I missing.

Is this an Exchange account? It only works in Exchange.

It's great that Home and Student doesn't support Exchange, but why can't I upgrade just Entourage? I made the same mistake as some and bought the only version Best Buy had (H&S) before reading the blogs, box or other information. Excuse me for being an idiot and assuming it would work like 2004. But why can I not pay an additional fee to get the functionality I lost? I can buy just Excel or PowerPoint, why not Entourage?

Im having a problem with Office 2008 and Exchange 2003 sp2. I have setup the entourage exchange account with no issue except that her tasks did not come over. Do these need to be brought over manually, and or will they ever sync with the Exchange server?

Nevermind just found this.

Notes
Entourage notes are not synchronized with the Exchange server.

Tasks
Entourage tasks are not synchronized with the Exchange server.
