Entourage support for client SSL certificates

Hello,

I have been searching for information about whether Entourage supports
and/or can be configured to use client SSL certificates. My
employer's OWA server requires not only a username/password but also a
personalized client SSL certificate (2-factor authentication). SSL
allows clients to not provide a certificate, and this is the typical
way that SSL works. But SSL does allow the server to challenge the
client to provide a certificate. I can do this using a web browser
(install the certificate in one of my keychains or whatever
certificate store a given browser uses).

But I would like to use Entourage rather than OWA with our externally
visible servers. I just cannot figure out how to get it to
successfully do so.

If I open up Microsoft Cert Manager, I see my personal SSL certificate
listed. I create an account using the OWA URL as the server address:

https://foo.whatever.com/exchange/[email protected]

and the client seems to connect (the "Not Connected" label goes away,
Wireshark shows SSL traffic going back and forth), but my mail doesn't
update, and no activity shows up in the "Progress" window. How can
this be fixed, and/or how can I debug this using Entourage?

Thanks for any help,
Smith
