Equating resources problem

Hello
Can I set up that when two resources are working, if one is occupied, (for
whatever hours) the next one is also occupied for the same duration?

Not unless you combine them into a single resource. Otherwise, when
you level resources, Project will allocate the hours in whatever way
makes sense to it mathematically, whether or not it's not realistic.

I'm finding that the trick to getting around this is to allocate on a
daily basis, give people their assignments, and let them work together
to figure out what the task order is that day, rather than trying to
get the tool to do daily scheduling.

This is probably true of any project management tool.

Hi Milind,

If you use Project's resource leveling you can.
In the leveling dialog box check out "Leveling can adjust individual
assignments"
Or if it's just for this one task, insert the column "Level Assignments" and
put it to "No".

I'd agree - it's not the project manager's job to micro-manage the
resource's work days.
