erases text after when correcting

Erasing after a correction

When I am writing a sentence and I have to go back to correct a word, what
can I do to stop Word from erasing all I've written after the incorrect word?
I lose an entire paragraph unless I copy everything that is after that
incorrect word and then erase the body and paste it again.

Press the Insert key once to switch between Overtype mode (what
you are in now) and Insert mode.
