Error 2229 on insrtalling Office XP

I am trying to install Office XP under Windows XP. After a few minuites it
stops on an Error 2229. There is some 9 lines of information in the
message. The file it references on the installation CD ROM is simply not
there. I've installed Office XP several times in the past on the same
machine under Win XP and this is the first time that the installation has
had a problem.

What is going on? What can I do about it?
