Error 2908

I installed Office Pro 2007 on XP and then later upgraded to Vista and the
program wouldn't work. I uninstalled the program and now it won't let me
reinstall it. I tried disabling my anti-virus and checking for spyware.
Some folks told me to rename or move the "mscoree.dll" file, but my computer
won't let me.

I'm desparate and out of ideas... please help!
