Error importing timesheets in 2007

Has anyone encountered the following issue:

We used "My timesheets" to enter time to tasks assigned in a project
plan.
We went to "My tasks" to attempt to import the timesheet and update
the task progress.
Upon clicking "import timesheet", the screen throws an error
indicating:
--
"Go Back to Site"
ERROR

Unknown Error
Troubleshoot issues with Windows SharePoint Services.

--

not particularly useful, that's for certain. I thought perhaps it had
to do with something on that particular project. Republshed the plan,
but no go. REMOVED the plan from the system entirely, created a new
one, entered some time, and it seemed to work. But when we went to
post more hours, same issue.

Any pointers are appreciated.

it could be anything, check the log files. Also, I've had this on slow
machines, sometimes hitting F5 a couple of times works.

I was oh so hoping that would resolve it but alas. I still have to check the
queues and such, but i believe it's either a bug or something wrong with this
one particular plan i've posted.

I'm having the same problem. How do I look at the log files? There is
nothing in the event logs.

Eric,

We have a very skilled consultant who was able to read through the SQL logs
themselves, and it appears there is a null value that is trying to be posted
into the database (not a good thing!). In the meantime, we've sent our
database off to Microsoft for further analysis. If we find the resolution
i'll be sure to let you know.

Glad I'm not alone - having the same problem on two different installations.

Eric,

We received a hot fix patch from Microsoft yesterday that resolved the
issue. Apparently it was allowing null values to be posted into the database.
If you want, you can refer to our case# SRX070209601485 to obtain additional
information.

Alex,

As mentioned above, we received a hot-fix patch from Microsoft to resolve an
issue where null values were being posted into the database for some unknown
reason. You can refer to our case # SRX070209601485 with Microsoft if you
need additional information or the patch itself.
