Error importing xBase file

Help! I have a commercial application that stores certain
data in an xbase file. I use access to import the data and
manipulate it. This worked fine in Access 97, but have
since upgraded to Access 2000. Now I get the
message "External table is not in the expected format".

I can pull into an Excel file and then export to access,
however, I don't think my boss will like that.

Any ideas?
