Error message in Outlook - Outlook.exe - bad image

When I open e-mails in Outlook, I get a pop-up box headed "Outlook.exe - Bad
image"
It then goes on to say "the application...... is not a valid windows image
please check against the installation diskette". When I click ok, I then get
several more pop-ups in a similar vein before the e-mail opens. Also my
toolbar seems to have disappeared once I'm into the e-mail. Can anyone help
please?
