Error message "Inavlid ENTRYID was passed in"

Hi,

Email will not send. When I check on the email address by clicking on it, I
get the Error message "Cannot perform the requested operation. The Command
selected is not valid for this recipient. Invalid ENTRYID was passed in"

- If I go in and put the actual email address it will send, but just
putting a name in does not get it done.
- If I go in and replace the contact and email address it will work.

I used Microsoft Exchange for a short while (before I got rid of it) and I'm
sure that's the source of the problem. I have since reinstalled Outlook on
my machine, but it does not help.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Marc

No resolution has been suggested because the user has not yet responded to my
request for further information.

OK thanks. About the only way I have been able to work 'around' the problem,
is to physically go in to the properties of each contact, highlight and
'copy' the email address, then highlight and 'delete' it, then immediately
'paste' it back in place - then it works fine. But a real pain to do that
with nearly 500 contacts. Would like to find a better/faster way to fix all
of them at once, if possible.

Open your Contacts folder, switch to a category view, and look for
ill-defined entries. If you find none, remove the Outlook Address Book
service from your mail profile, stop and restart Outlook, and then readd the
service to your profile.

If that doesn't resolve it then I would suggest deleting your Outlook
profile and then recreating it (don't copy).

Let me know if either of those suggestions help.

I'm also having the same issues as noted above. I have tried numerous
solutions to no avail. I re-created my Outlook profile and imported my
contacts into the new profile. Same issue. Can't seem to find out how to
remove the Outlook Address Book service from my profile to re-create it as
you mention. Also in the navigation pane the only address book that shows up
in my profile is a Contacts tab. No Address book in the folder view and no
contacts folder in the same view, just in the navigation view. In Outlook
2003 I used to have a contacts folder within my personal folder that I could
export my contacts from. Not there in 2007. I do have the address book icon
in the menu bar though. And for your first solution. I don't know what an
Ill-defined entry is.

There was a KB939596 hotfix that I tried but it says "The expected version
of the product was not found on the system." I have Office 2007 so that is
the correct version unless it's looking for a version prior to SP1.

Can't send bulk emails because until this is fixed my emails just sit in the
outbox and all I can do is delete them.
