error msg 0x800ccc0e dl problem

I can send and receive emails no problem, but when I try to send a message to a distribution list rather than individuals, I get error messages telling me outlook was unable to connect to the server (0x800ccc0e)

I do not know why this is happening, apparently, my broadband account has no restrictions on the amount of recipients, and the file I’m attempting to send is only 180 kb.

I cannot find help on Microsoft, anyone else had this problem or know how to rectify it ???
