Error: No Locale Data

Hi

I have an obscure ppt error that I can't resolve anywhere. When I select the
'view' menu looking for the Outline View, I see "Error : No locale data" and
when I select this option it displays the Slide Show view.

Would be grateful for help.

Thanks

I can't tell if we ever figured out why this happens, and I can't find it
documented in the MSKB, but...

It seems to be corrected by going to your Windows control
panel and changing your regional settings from UK to US. Or something
else in there to US. Or maybe it's everything in there to US.

The "no locale data" entry on the View Menu should work, though. It's
where you'd usually see View/Normal or View/Slide, I believe.

Well, the stuff I found in my quick search to refresh my memory basically
said that you have to change your UK persona to a US-based one. Maybe you
have to do it a couple of times for it to "take" or something, but changing
to US and then _back_ to UK would probably leave the "no locale data" thing
in place.

I'm 99.9% positive you have to change the Windows regional stuff to US.
Which means that the user will probably not be able to get back to what
he/she really wants.

Hi,

I had this problem under PowerPoint 2002. I had wondered about whether it
was because I was in Australia, and Microsoft never figured out where that
was <vbg>?
