Error Saving from Office 2000 to a share

When trying to save a file from MS Office programs to
our shared drive this error msg. pops
up:

*** WINDOWS An error occurred while reconnecting to K: to
\\desbhm\group - Microsoft Windows Network: The local
device name is already in use. This connection has not
been restored. ***

After the msg. the file will save to where you told it to
afterall. What causes this msg. and how can it be fixed?
Please, if you have an answer, let me know.

The user is on W2K with W2K Office. Symantec 8.1 client
(managed)installed. Saving through office to both NT and
W2K servers. We were not informed about the problem for
weeks. It may have started when we removed McAfee on
installed Symantec. We are not for sure. Nothing shows in
the event viewer. I had spotted those 2 articles, but they
don't pertain, directly. I did check what I could on
Symantec. It is the latest 8.1 version.
