Error When Signing Onto Computer

I have a Dell Inspiron 3700 pc. I just upgraded to
Windows XP, and everything is fine except that I receive
an error at log-on. It says there's a start-up system or
service error and to check the event log. I checked the
event log and do get an error that says:

The Eplpdx02 service failed due to: the parameter is
incorrect.

The printer port icon is on the bottom of the screen when
I get this error message. I did download a updated driver
from Epson when I upgraded to Windows XP.

Any suggestions for a fix for this error message? Thanks -
