Error when try to load Microsoft X Framework Library

All of a sudden I receievd a corrupt data message while working in
Entourage X. I did what the program said and closed all MS
applications and then tried to reopen. I got the "unexpected error
occured when trying to load the Microsoft X framework library"
message. When I tried to open any of my office products I got the
same message. I uninstalled and reinstalled Office with no luck. Any
suggestions as Aplle says this is a Microsoft problem. I have been
using Office for the last few months with no problems.

Try the solution on the Error's page:

FYI...Using Remove Office is more complete than dragging to the trash.

Thanks for the suggestion Diane but it turned out to be something
else. I did use the "Uninstall Office" application that came on the CD
more times than I can count, and it still didn't work. What I found out
by chance was that the damaged "Entourage" data file had survived all
of the uninstalls even though I checked "do not save any personal files"
when the program asked the question. What that web page did alert me
to was the path on which to find the file. Since I should not have had
any "Entourage data files", when I saw them in the Microsoft Indentity
folder I deleted them and that was it.

1. Since you're using Entourage 2001, the Uninstall Office program on the
Office 2001 CD is NO GOOD. You have to go to the MacTopia website and
download the "Office Remover" for Office 2001 and 98.

2. You should NEVER have to get rid of your data files. Removing office
leaves those alone by design - so people don't lose their data. Since
ditching them got Entourage working normally again evidently you had a
corrupted database. To fix that, you should have done an Advanced Rebuild of
you database, which is what we would have recommended here if you had waited
for an answer. Even in 2001, if you have upgraded to SR-1, that usually
works. (In Entourage X, with upgrades, it virtually always does - 2001 is a
little more "iffy".)

In future, don't get rid of your data - fix it.
