EULA Office 2003 Pro

Before I bought my Office 2003 Pro, I asked the vendor
whether I would be allowed to install the software on my
home PC and on my work laptop (understanding that it
would only be used by me) and was told yes. I also
downloaded the EULA from the Microsoft site and it stated
that I could install the software on one personal
computer plus install it on one other portable device.

However, when I received the software today, the small
written setup insert stated that I could only use the
software on one computer. I haven't tried to activate
(or install) it yet since I want to install it first on
my laptop (which is being built) before trying to install
it on both it and my home PC.

What is the correct answer? "One" or "One+One
portable"? Will I run into a bunch of grief when I try
to activate the software on the second machine?

TIA

Where did you buy the software? Was it an OEM copy, or something you bought
in a box in store (like BestBuy or Staples or the like?)

The general retail license permits usage on one desktop and one laptop owned
by the same person. The OEM agreement is likely just for one machine.

I appreciate the quick response. I bought a retail
version from an online vendor (academic). It's not OEM.
