Calli,
You mentioned that you are using Project as a calendar but I don't know
if that means you are using the Calendar view or just treating the Gantt
Chart view as a calendar of events. I'll assume you are using the Gantt
Chart view.

Project doesn't have a lot of flexibility when it comes to graphics. The
only way to show recurring tasks on a single line is by looking at the
Summary Line for the recurring task.
