Excel 2000 issue

My new puter has Win XP. I loaded office 2000 on it but have a problem with
Excel 2000. When I boot it up I get a message saying it is not a
recognizable file. When I click oday Excel opens 8 workbooks entitled
Winzip, Winlog, Systeminfo, Setstatus, etc.

Is there a download that fixes this?
